Public Health Insurance 
Kids First Health Care is a certified site for Medicaid/CHP+ application assistance and a certified Presumptive Eligibility (PE) site. 

We assist families in applying for the following programs:
Child Health Plan Plus (CHP+) is public low-cost health insurance for certain children and pregnant women. It is for people who earn too much to qualify for Medicaid, but not enough to pay for private health insurance.

You must meet the following qualifications to get CHP+:
  • Are under 19 years of age or are pregnant
  • Are a United States citizen and Colorado resident
  • Are an alien or immigrant who has been in the United States for at least five years* 
  • Don't have other health insurance
  • Meet income guidelines (For more information on income guidelines visit CHPPlus.org or call 1-800-359-1991)

*Refugees, Deportees, Asylees, Cuban or Haitian entrants and victims of trafficking are exceptions to the five year rule

Colorado's health insurance marketplace, Connect for Health Colorado®, the only place to apply for financial assistance to help reduce your costs and get access to a statewide network of free, in-person assistance. 

Colorado Medicaid is public health insurance for low-income Coloradans who qualify. Colorado Medicaid is funded jointly by a federal-state partnership and is administered by the Department of Health Care Policy and Financing (us).

You may qualify if you fall under one of the following categories:
  • Children ages 0-18 whose household income does not exceed 142% Federal Poverty Level (FPL)
  • Pregnant Women whose household income does not exceed 195% FPL
  • Parents and Caretaker Relatives (you must have a dependent child) whose household income does not exceed 133% FPL
  • Adults without dependent children whose household income does not exceed 133% FPL
  • Are a United States citizen and Colorado resident
  • Are an alien or immigrant who has been in the United States for at least five years*

Kaiser Colorado Bridge Program 
The Kaiser Permanente Colorado Bridge Program is designed to help those who are uninsured with no access to other health coverage pay for standard Kaiser Permanente Individuals and Families (KPIF) plan.   Contact the KP Colorado Bridge Program for more information about what services are covered in the Denver/Boulder, Northern Colorado and Pueblo service areas. 

Who is eligible:
• Applicants must live within the Kaiser Foundation Health Plan of Colorado service area based on zip code
• Must have income at or below 300 percent of the Federal Poverty Level (FPL)
• Must be under the age of 35 years at time of the effective date of the Kaiser Permanente plan
• Must not have access to any other public or private health coverage including, but not limited to:
- Medicaid/CHP+
- Connect for Health Colorado
- Medicare
- Job based health coverage

*If you are not eligible for Colorado Bridge, Kaiser Permanente has additional options available through the Connect for Health Colorado, Colorado's marketplace.
