Michele Hinnenberg, Medical Provider

Ms. Hinnenberg has worked as a pediatric primary care and school-based health care provider with Kids First Health Care since 2002. At Kearney Middle School, she provides health services to enrolled students, including acute primary care, well child exams, immunizations, health education, and health maintenance. She graduated from the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center with Masters in Nursing in the Pediatric Nurse Practitioner program. She has 35 years of experience in pediatric health care and 21 years of experience as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. Ms. Hinnenberg particularly enjoys working with young teens and their families, promoting healthy behaviors, treating pediatric asthma, coordinating the early identification of conditions, and supporting and treating a wide range of adolescent behavioral health concerns.

Arely Pena Reyes, Medical Assistant

Ms. Pena has been working at Kids First for nearly two years. She currently serves as a certified medical assistant at the KMS health center. In this role, she helps with greeting students, checking in patients, taking vitals, obtaining medical histories, running labs, and more. She graduated from Pima Medical Institute and then completed her externship with Kids First.

Ricky Alarcon, Behavioral Health Professional

Mr. Alarcon provides mental health therapy for the students at Kearney Middle School and Adams City Middle School.  An employee of Community Reach Center (CRC), Mr. Alarcon has worked closely with Kids First’s school-based teams for the past two years. In August 2016, he graduated from Andrews University in Berrien Springs, Michigan with a Master of Social Work degree. Within a couple of months, he will be fully licensed as a LCSW. Mr. Alarcon particularly enjoys working with students on finding positive solutions to deal with issues they may be facing on a daily basis and making positive changes that can impact them for the rest of their lives.

Bobbi Garcia-Abrego, Enrollment Coordinator

Ms. Garcia-Abrego has worked at Kids First Health Care since 2010. In her role as Enrollment Coordinator, she enrolls families and children in Medicaid, CHP+, and Kids First’s sliding scale; helps families sign up for Presumptive Eligibility (temporary Medicaid coverage); troubleshoots issues with public insurance enrollment; and provides referrals for community resources. Prior to serving at Kids First, she worked in medical billing, and in 2003, she obtained her medical assisting certification through Concorde Career College. Ms. Garcia-Abrego is bilingual in English and Spanish, and she adores serving her community.

Dr. Sarah Winbourn, Pediatrician

Dr. Winbourn, a graduate of Vanderbilt University Medical School, joined the staff of Kids First in September 2008 so she has also been with the agency for ten years. She completed her residency through the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center Pediatric Residency Program and has practiced at The Children’s Hospital Denver, Denver Health Medical Center and the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. In her role as Medical Director, Dr. Winbourn directs medical care at all Kids First clinics and oversees a staff of nine medical providers. Dr. Winbourn is bilingual in English and Spanish.
