Job purpose
Works with Kids First Health Care administrative team and providers ensure patient care objectives are met as well as clinical operation objectives. The Lead Medical Assistant is responsible for supporting the clinic care teams in delivering health care services to pediatric and adolescent patients in a professional manner. The Lead Medical Assistant functions according to the clinical policies and procedures established by Kids First Health Care.
Duties and responsibilities
- Vaccine Program Coordinator for all sites
- Assisting with training fellow Medical Assistants as needed
- Henry Schein medical supply order approval
- Office supply order excluding administrative supplies
- Clinic equipment calibration for all sites
- Assists Log in’s for all new MA’s
- Initial Clinic operations troubleshooting
- Aprima IT Troubleshooting
- Troubleshooting IT software for all sites
- LabCorp Billing Delegating
- Project Cure supply donations
- Clinic Operation Audits
- Operates as first level to go person
- Participates covering different clinic sites
- Assist with emergent/urgent problems with staff, be available over the phone
- Assist in clinic as a Medical Assistant
- Assist with related duties as required
- Verifies high standards of client care at all times and challenging others to poor practice
- Oversees Crash Cart inventory
- Oversees Oxygen Tanks
- Oversees equipment calibrations and maintenance including Vaccine Fridge, Vaccine Temp Loggers, Clinic Equipment, Audiometer, and Dental Equipment
- With Clinic Manager, coordinates Vaccine Emergency Plan including call schedule
- Project Cure Supply inventory
- Manages IT equipment and programs including printers, scanners, Ipads, inventories, interfaces (HeartSmart, APEX)
Qualifications
- Fluency in Spanish (ability to translate medical terminology from Spanish to English and from English to Spanish to assist communication between providers and clients)
- Knowledge of computers and data entry procedures, including EMR

- 2 years or more of Clinical Medical Assistant supervisory experience
- Completion of Accredited Medical Assistant program
- Certified Medical Assistant Licensing current
Physical requirements
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, see, and demonstrate manual dexterity. Light lifting may be required up to 50 lbs.

- Starting pay: $16-$18 hourly (based on experience)
