Kids First is thrilled to announce that we will be a beneficiary of CoBiz Financial’s 2018-19 Biz Bash!
Biz Bash is a highly successful annual fundraising concert presented by CoBiz Financial that benefits two local, child-focused charities that are selected each year.
As a Biz Bash beneficiary, Kids First will launch a campaign to enhance awareness around the issue of poor oral health and to promote oral health for children and adolescents across Adams County.
Funds raised from this event will enable Kids First to purchase dental equipment for its Thornton High School clinic as well as its forthcoming school-based health clinic in Brighton High School–enabling us to provide dental screenings, cleanings, fluoride varnish, sealants, and nutritional counseling to students, all within the schools!
We’ll also provide dedicated oral health patient navigation across all of our clinics so our patients are connected to any other dental resources and services they might need.
Finally, Kids First is excited to work with our school district partners in Adams County to bring in-classroom oral health education to first-grade students so they can learn proper brushing techniques, flossing, and nutrition for dental health.
After launching preventive dental services in our Adams City High School clinic last spring through a partnership with Salud Family Health Centers, we have seen firsthand the value of bringing these services into the school where students can access them easily—so they lose less time in the classroom and prevent the onset of more serious issues, such as tooth decay. We are so excited to begin work on this project and proud to be partnering with CoBiz Financial!
