Kids First Health Care provides excellent health care services for children and teens from birth to age 21 at the Westminster clinic, which is located inside the Early Childhood Center at Gregory Hill. The Westminster clinic is accepting new patients and has no zip code requirements. Kids First also helps families apply for and renew health insurance coverage for children through the Health First CO (Medicaid) and CHP+ programs. Ashley Fredrickson, Medical Provider

Ms. Fredrickson joined Kids First Health Care in July 2018. As the medical provider at the Gregory Hill location, Ms. Fredrickson provides a variety of health care services, including well-child checks, care for acute illness and injuries, care for chronic conditions, and reproductive health care, for children and teens. In 2014, she earned a Master of Science in Nursing degree from the University of Colorado College of Nursing. Prior to joining Kids First, she worked in family practice at Clinica Family Health for four years. She looks forward to seeing the children she serves grow, develop, and thrive because they are getting the physical and mental health care they need. Ms. Fredrickson is bilingual in English and Spanish.

Carolina dela Rosa Silva, Health Educator

Ms. dela Rosa Silva has served with Kids First Health Care since October 2015. In her role as the health educator at the Gregory Hill location, she works directly with patients to provide one-on-one education about nutrition, asthma management and reproductive health. Previously, she worked as a medical assistant at Kids First and in a family practice clinic. She also helped facilitate Children’s Hospital Colorado and the University of Colorado’s Healthy Living program for two years. In 2013, she graduated from Everest College and obtained a medical assisting certification. Ms. dela Rosa Silva is bilingual in English and Spanish.

Pamela Ramirez, Medical Assistant

Ms. Ramirez joined Kids First Health Care as a medical assistant in 2018. At the Gregory Hill clinic, she checks in patients, books appointments, answers the phones, handles clinical paperwork, and more. In 2015, she graduated from the Institute of Business and Medical Careers in Longmont and earned her medical assisting certificate. She enjoys interacting with children and likes to help people through her work. Ms. Ramirez is bilingual in English and Spanish.

Daniela Garcia-Nunez, Medical Assistant

Ms. Garcia-Nunez has worked as medical assistant at Kids First Health Care since November 2017. In her role, she assists with a variety of medical tasks, including recording patients’ medical histories, taking vitals, running labs, and more. She graduated from Pima Medical Institute in 2017 and then completed her externship with Kids First. Previously, she worked in home health care for the elderly. She particularly enjoys her current work with infants and young children. Ms. Garcia-Nunez is bilingual in English and Spanish.

Brianna Barela, MA, LPC, NCC, , Behavioral Health Provider

Ms. Barela provides mental health services for children, youth, and families at the Commerce City and Westminster locations. Ms. Barela has been practicing as a mental health provider for the past five years. She has experience working with patients who are dealing with substance use disorders and eating disorders. She has worked with Community Reach Center and Kids First Health Care as a bilingual behavioral health professional since 2017. She graduated with a Masters of Arts in Counseling Psychology from the University of Denver in 2014.

Bobbi Garcia-Abrego, Enrollment Coordinator

Ms. Garcia-Abrego has worked at Kids First Health Care since 2010. In her role as Enrollment Coordinator, she enrolls families and children in Medicaid, CHP+, and Kids First’s sliding scale; helps families sign up for Presumptive Eligibility (temporary Medicaid coverage); troubleshoots issues with public insurance enrollment; and provides referrals for community resources. Prior to serving at Kids First, she worked in medical billing, and in 2003, she obtained her medical assisting certification through Concorde Career College. Ms. Garcia-Abrego is bilingual in English and Spanish, and she adores serving her community.

Dr. Sarah Winbourn, Pediatrician

Dr. Winbourn, a graduate of Vanderbilt University Medical School, joined the staff of Kids First in September 2008 so she has also been with the agency for ten years. She completed her residency through the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center Pediatric Residency Program and has practiced at The Children’s Hospital Denver, Denver Health Medical Center and the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. In her role as Medical Director, Dr. Winbourn directs medical care at all Kids First clinics and oversees a staff of nine medical providers. Dr. Winbourn is bilingual in English and Spanish.
